Jean-Paul Cleren was born in 1940 in Belle-Ile en Mer. Very early he paints and draws before even to receive artistic training. From 1952 to 1957, he follows the courses of Marguerite Allard Academy in Marseille. In 1958, the painter is the Château Noir Cézanne workshop. He then moved in 1960 to Saint-Tropez and is exhibited each year at the galerie Georges Barry. In 1967 and 1968, he took part in the Salon de Mai in Paris. Since 1969, he exhibited regularly in Geneva at the Gallery Lambert Monet. In 1983, the mosaic in Paris Gallery exhibited alongside those of Salvador Dalí and Léonor Fini.
