Maurice.Count Jean de Lambertie was born at the castle of Crolière at Gionges in the Marne 15 July 1884, Count Paul-Marie-Louis-Joseph annuitant profession, aged thirty-three years and Marie-Clémentine Madeleine Liron of Airoles without profession. He is the youngest of five children: Maria Louise Claire (1878 - Lisieux, 1914) Roger Mary Joseph Alexandre (° 1880), Bernard Marie Gustave Gabriel (° 1882), Guillemette Marie-Cécile-Henriette (Gionges, 12 August 1883 - Montpellier, March 12, 1968). Lambertie adopted the pseudonym of Maurice Berty to distinguish himself from his illustrious grandfather Leonce Auguste Marie (Montlucon, 1810) known for his work in horticulture. He participated in the Great War and was wounded in the Battle of the Marne in September 1914. In Paris, he began working for various magazines: Fantasy, Reading for All, Bagatelles, but the illustration is for him only a hobby given its aristocratic ancestry and his fortune. Only after the Great War and his marriage, the illustration becomes for him a full time profession, he began working for the time editors, especially Nilsson but also for the Nelson Collection. He illustrated the books of the Library of Suzette. It also designs advertisements for example, for Au Bon Marché department stores, for establishments Th Bourdier, jewelery merchants and for the programs of different theaters.. He also wrote a book of history, Louis XIV, king of France, 1638-1715 (Paris, art prints Corporation, 1936), which in 1942 earned him the Bordin Prize of the Academy of Belles -Letters, Science and Fine Arts.
